Bringing Health & Hope to the Heart of Africa

Our Story

Established in 2005, The GEANCO Foundation ( saves and transforms lives in Africa. We conduct regular joint replacement medical missions, support maternal and infant health programs, and lead a Clinton Global Initiative to fight anemia in Nigeria. We donate computers, books and medicine to primary schools. We are developing a world-class hospital in southeast Nigeria.

We also provide full scholarships and medical and psychological care to young female victims of terrorism.

We proudly count among our supporters Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Oz, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jimmy Kimmel, David Oyelowo, Whoopi Goldberg, Forest Whitaker, Chiwetel Ejiofor, NFL Hall of Famers Ronnie Lott, Warren Moon and Richard Dent.

Afam Onyema graduated cum laude from Harvard University and Stanford Law School and declined several lucrative corporate law offers to lead GEANCO full-time.

The GEANCO Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization founded in 2005. We save and transform the lives of the poor and vulnerable in Africa. We lead special medical missions, run maternal and infant health programs, and support primary schools in Nigeria. We are working with Stanford Hospital and many others to develop a world-class hospital in the country.

Together, WE can bring Health and Hope to those in desperate need of both. Please join us!
