The Rod Dedeaux Foundation

Serving at-risk youth through sports.

Our Story

We were founded by the famous college baseball coach, Rod Dedeaux and run by his family to honor his legacy and wish to better the world through the sport of baseball. Our mission is to help at-risk youth through free baseball and softball programs. We have a baseball academy in Compton, California and many partner organizations and serve over 30,000 youth per year in underserved urban communities in the Los Angeles area. We provide positive and safe alternatives to youth growing up in challenging environments and they work wonders as new doors are opened to them through our supportive programs. We are also very proud to award college scholarships to bright and deserving youth who otherwise might not be able to attend college. The Rod Dedeaux Foundation is a small and young charity but very well connected and motivated to help at-risk youth. We would be thrilled to have your support and your contribution would go to a great cause! Through our programs we see many lives changed right before our eyes. Please see our website if you want more information about our many youth programs.

Our main fundraiser is the annual Dedeaux Foundation Dinner where we present The Golden Spikes Award to the top amateur baseball player in the nation. Past winners have been Kris Bryant, Bryce Harper, Stephan Strasburg, Buster Posey, David Price, and many other current and past major leaguers.

Our mission is to serve and support at-risk youth in underserved urban communities through our free baseball and softball programs. We are able to serve over 30,000 at-risk youth per year with our very effective programs. We also award college scholarships to deserving youth who many otherwise not be able to go. Changing the lives of our youth is a wonderful thing and we are very passionate and effective at doing it! We would love your support. See our website to learn more about our great programs.
