ABOUT THRIVE: CAMP CASCO'S VIRTUAL FITNESS CHALLENGE CAMPAIGN
------ x ------
Whether it’s reaching the top of the climbing tower, going down the water slide, or getting on stage at the talent show, Camp Casco helps childhood cancer patients and survivors set and reach new goals every day. Achieving goals boosts healthy self-esteem and provides personal satisfaction, in addition to helping our campers experience feelings of independence and improved confidence. By building our campers up, we’re able to reinforce how absolutely incredible, strong, and capable they are, counteracting feelings of insecurity or poor body image with positivity and a celebration of their grit and resilience.
By setting your goals through our THRIVE campaign, you’ll experience the same great benefits of reaching your own milestones, while helping our campers to grow and thrive by helping us fund another transformative year of camp. With your help, even more childhood cancer survivors can enjoy independence, friendship, and fun!
Generous donors will match every dollar you donate or raise up to $15,000. With your help, we're hoping to reach our goal of raising $30,000 total -- enough to pay for both of our 2019 camp sessions!
This May, challenge yourself and your loved ones to meet your fitness goals, and you can win great prizes while supporting local childhood cancer patients and survivors! Join our 2019 THRIVErs community on Facebook for more opportunities to win prizes and special shoutouts throughout the campaign: facebook.com/groups/ccthrive/
>>> Raise $100 & Give a Family a Day to Remember!
Your funds can send a Day Camp family to Family Fun Day, our July 4th celebration for parents, campers, and siblings, including swimming, canoeing, and lunch. Parents and siblings get the chance to bond with one another as Day Campers strengthen their bonds during this special day! Every participant who raises or donates $100 will receive a friendship bracelet to thank you for helping us build strong friendships between our families.
>>> Raise $250 & Send a Child to Sleep-Away Camp!
By raising or donating $250, your support can sponsor one camper's room & board in a modern cabin with electricity, indoor bathrooms, and hot water, and healthy meals prepared by Camp Wingate*Kirkland's chef for the entire week of overnight camp! Every participant who raises or donates $250 will receive a letter from our 2019 overnight camp this August letting you know how much fun we're having, and a friendship bracelet to represent the friendships you're helping us build!
>>> Raise $500 & Feed Camp For A Day!
By raising or donating $500, you can help us feed all of Day Camp for an entire day! We provide a healthy balanced lunch and two nutritious snacks to all campers and volunteers each day to keep energy levels up -- as we like to say, a well-fed camper is a happy camper! Raise or donate $500 and you'll receive your name on the back of the official 2019 camp shirt (and your very own shirt, of course!), worn proudly by all campers and volunteers, a letter from camp, and a friendship bracelet!
>>> Raise $1000 & Create Camp Magic!
By raising or donating $1000, you could fund the activity supplies that make our crazy camp programming so epic, our campers won’t stop talking about them until next year. Past favorites have included a snowball fight, glow-in-the-dark meals, slip-and-slides, and a tomato fight. Raise or donate $1000 and you'll receive a glow-in-the-dark Camp Casco sweatshirt, an invitation to Family Fun Day, your name on the back of the official 2019 camp shirt (and your very own shirt, of course!), a letter from camp, and a friendship bracelet.
Our goal is to raise enough money to cover all of our direct camp costs in 2019 (including one week-long Day Camp for 12 kids and one week-long Overnight Camp for 32 kids) - roughly $30,000. Every dollar you donate or raise will be matched 1:1, thanks to the $15,000 of matching grants pledged towards this campaign. With your help, we can fund our 5th summer of camps and continue to build lasting connections for childhood cancer patients, survivors, and families!

What is Charity Footprints?
Charity Footprints is a social enterprise that connects fitness and charitable giving. We empower people just like you, to get fit & give back.
Our Virtual Races allow non-profits to challenge their patrons to run, walk or ride and raise funds just as they would in a fundraising walkathon. The best part - charities save over 45% in event and logistical costs. So, the dollars that you pay to register or fundraise, go farther.
What is the campaign registration fee?
Campaign registration fee is the amount that you'll need to pay to enroll in this virtual race. This fee (less transaction charges) will go to the non-profit running this campaign as a donation.
The registration fee along with the funds raised through your individual fundraising page will enable the non-profit to fund various programs and pursue their organization's mission.
How can I create my fundraising page?
Well, you wouldn't have to create a separate fundraising page. Once you register for this campaign, we'll give you the link to your fundraising page.
How will I track my distance?
You can track your workouts by setting up your devices (Fitbit), or download the Charity Footprints' iOS or Android app and track your workouts toward this campaign.
While registering for the campaign, select the team you'd like to join or create a new team and invite others to #GetFitGiveBack with you.
I am an international donor (non-US), what are my donation charges and tax-deductibility?
All donations are made in US dollars, so the donations may be levied an exchange rate fee via your bank. Donors will want to connect with their bank to determine exactly what that fee may be. Additionally, international donors will need to reach out to a tax professional to discuss if and how tax deductibility will apply to their donation.
Who can sponsor my fundraising efforts?
The short answer is - everyone. The fundraising research shows that the number one reason for people not donating is that they weren't asked to.
That said, there are things you can do to attract people to sponsor you. Adding a picture to your fundraising page, telling potential donors why this cause is so personal to you, sharing your fundraising page on social media, email, and chat groups.
Last, if your employer has a gift matching program, check with the human resources department to support your favorite cause as well.
Who can I contact if I need help?
You can contact us any time if you need help. We love hearing from our users so please don't hesitate to write to us about issues, suggestions, or to just say hi. You can also contact the non-profit administrator directly if you would like.
How do I change or switch my team?
If you have already joined a team, we do not allow switching of team as team's reports data is dependent on team's composition and changing team may affect a team's performance.
If you still want to change your team (like if you joined a team by mistake) or create your own team, please email us at email@example.com and we will switch your team.
