ABOUT CATCH ON TO FITNESS CHALLENGE 2021 CAMPAIGN
 
Join 4X Olympic Gold Medalist & Hall of Famer TAMIKA CATCHINGS and friends for our month-long Fitness and Fundraising challenge!
 
Over the past 18 years, our Fitness Challenge and Clinics have encouraged youth and families to GET FIT and LEAD HEALTHIER lifestyles while also supporting Hoosiers in Need. A portion of the Catch on to Fitness Challenge proceeds will be used to support Gleaner's Food Bank of Central Indiana.
 
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED?!
Registration is FREE for local participants, or just $10 for out-of-towners to cover the cost of mailing your Fitness Challenge t-shirt!
 
UPDATE: T-shirts can be picked up at Tea's Me Community Cafe (3967 N. Illinois Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208) between October 2nd-16 between 9AM-3PM daily). *They can also be picked up upon checking in for the first 2 pop up WORKOUTS (Yoga in the Park-10/2 or Family Bootcamp-10/9 at Tarkington Park between 9-11AM). Or shirts will be mailed to you if you select the $10 option to cover the cost of shipping.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
Select an Individual Fitness Goal for the month:
  • 50 miles (ROOKIE LEVEL)
  • 100 miles (STARTER LEVEL)
  • 200 miles (ALL-STAR LEVEL)
  • 250+ miles (MVP LEVEL)
 
As you run, walk, hike or bike during the month of October, log your activity and encourage your friends and family to join you! Your goal will count towards our collective Fitness goal of 5K miles.
 
If I am tracking fitness activities other than walking, running & biking, how do I log them in miles?
We want to encourage all kinds of fitness activities for our Catch on to Fitness Challenge. Here’s a chart for you to equate 1 mile with time spent on various activities:
*Each physical activity/time spent listed above equals 1 mile. So, when entering miles in the Charity Footprints app for any of these activities, simply divide the time you spent on the activity by the number of minutes from this chart for that activity. Then plug in the number of miles - be sure to round up!
 
In addition to your Fitness Goal, every participant is challenged to raise $100 towards our fundraising goal of $10,000.
 
Fitness Challenge participants will receive a FREE t-shirt and can earn a medal for reaching your FITNESS GOAL and fundraising/donating a minimum of $100 ($10 fee for participants that need their shirts to be mailed).

Help our cause by contributing to our fundraising efforts. No act of generosity is too small to make a difference!

YOUR $50 donation provides school-supply filled backpacks for 2-3 local youth via our Back to School Celebration! Over 1,000 backpacks are donated annually.

YOUR $100 donation supports our Fitness and Youth Development programs that teach youth the importance of being fit and leading healthier lifestyles. Our programs impact over 1,000 youth annually.

YOUR $500+ donation directly supports our Scholarship fund. Over $300k in scholarships has been granted since the program's inception in 2004. Our goal is to provide full 4-year scholarships to assist students with their higher educational goals.

10% of our event proceeds will be donated to Gleaner's Food Bank of Central Indiana. Your support is greatly appreciated!

What is Charity Footprints?

Charity Footprints is a social enterprise that connects fitness and charitable giving. We empower people just like you, to get fit & give back.

Our Virtual Races allow non-profits to challenge their patrons to run, walk or ride and raise funds just as they would in a fundraising walkathon. The best part - charities save over 45% in event and logistical costs. So, the dollars that you pay to register or fundraise, go farther.

What is the campaign registration fee?

This campaign is free to participate in.

However, we encourage you to donate optional/suggested amount during registration or you can always donate any amount on your fundraising page after the registration.

How can I create my fundraising page?

Well, you wouldn't have to create a separate fundraising page. Once you register for this campaign, we'll give you the link to your fundraising page.

How will I track my distance?

You can track your workouts by setting up your devices (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch, Google Fit, Misfit, Strava), or download the Charity Footprints' iOS or Android app and track your workouts toward this campaign. ?>

If you workout indoors (treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike etc.), you can upload your workouts here.

How do I join a team on this campaign?

While registering for the campaign, select the team you'd like to join or create a new team and invite others to #GetFitGiveBack with you. If you want to join a team (or create your team) after registration, login to the campaign site and you would find a link to edit "My Team" in the menu under your profile in the header.

I am an international donor (non-US), what are my donation charges and tax-deductibility?

All donations are made in US dollars, so the donations may be levied an exchange rate fee via your bank. Donors will want to connect with their bank to determine exactly what that fee may be. Additionally, international donors will need to reach out to a tax professional to discuss if and how tax deductibility will apply to their donation.

Who can sponsor my fundraising efforts?

The short answer is - everyone. The fundraising research shows that the number one reason for people not donating is that they weren't asked to.

That said, there are things you can do to attract people to sponsor you. Adding a picture to your fundraising page, telling potential donors why this cause is so personal to you, sharing your fundraising page on social media, email, and chat groups.

Last, if your employer has a gift matching program, check with the human resources department to support your favorite cause as well.
