My Appeal
The economic impact of COVID-19 will sadly result in an uptick in animal relinquishments from within our community due to financial hardship and changes in housing caused by that hardship. In our animal-loving area, the decision to rehome a pet is heartbreaking and sad. HSTT is here to help pet owners through that selfless process by providing medical care, healthy food and a safe, warm place to live for every pet that comes our way. The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) needs your financial support to prepare to help our community caringly rehome their pets when necessary. Additionally, your contributions will help community members care for their pets during these trying times with help from our free Pet Pantry food distribution program and, once we return to normal operations, through our Wellness Clinics providing free vaccinations and microchips to animal owners in need. Our goal is to provide all the support we can in order to keep pets in their homes with the people who love them, however, we need to be prepared to rehome an increased number of pets over the coming months.

The Mission: The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoption, community spay/neuter and humane education programs.
About the Organization:
Founded in 1994 by a group of committed volunteers, the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe has become the driving force in animal rescue and adoption for the Truckee region.
Over time, we have grown from a small grass roots entity to a nationally recognized non-profit organization with ten employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers.
