Amigos De Jesus
My Appeal
Hi Everyone,
How would you like to donate to the BEST cause ever? Join me in supporting Amigos de Jesus, a sanctuary of hope, healing and transformation in service to vulnerable children. I have been a supporter of this beautiful Family for over 15 years. Albert and I sponsor one of the children, and I can't begin to tell you this is one charity you will want to support. From June 19-27, I will be taking part in a Walk, Run, Pray, Virtual Step Challenge for Amigos de Jesus. My goal is to raise $500 for Amigos while walking a total of at least 55,000 steps over the course of the 9 day challenge. I will also be praying each day for the intentions of the Amigos family, and that includes you. If you are able, please help me reach my goal by donating ANY amount possible. If I go over my goal, then that's even better. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Here is some more information about Amigos:
Founded in 1997 by Christine and Anthony Granese and Father Dennis O’Donnell, an Archdiocesan priest from Philadelphia. Amigos de Jesús supports 141 children in a loving, safe environment for children to grow and learn.

The average cost a day to provide food, clothing, education and basic necessities for our children is about $21 per child. On an annual basis, here’s what that looks like:

Annual Costs for One Child
- Clothing: $160
- Housing with 2 House Parents: $1,500
- Food: $1,182
- Health Care: $2,190
- Education: $2,255
- Transportation: $250
---------------------------------------------
Total: $ 7,537 per child per year
Amigos de Jesús is located on 200 acres of rural farmland in Macuelizo, Honduras. Our home, which we affectionately refer to as the Hogar (which means “Home” in Spanish), has 13 residences for our 141 children, 100 staff and volunteers, our bilingual school, a chapel and a working farm.
Amigos de Jesús recently began to build smaller homes (hogares) in order to provide our children with family style housing. In each home, no more than eight children live with two madrinas and padrinos who care for them. The homes are each named for a Saint:
• Santa Lucia
• María Magdalena
• Virgen de Guadalupe
• Santa Teresa de Calcuta
• Santa Rosa de Lima
• Santa Narcisa de Jesús
• San Miguel Arcángel
• San Francisco de Asís
• San Pedro
• San Juan Apóstol
• San Antonio de Padua
• San Juan Bautista
• San Oscar Romero
Each of our hogares will be joining us as teams for the Virtual Walk For The Children.

Again a great big THANK YOU for your support,
Paula
