My Appeal
The funds raised will directly support the construction of The Grove, Phase III. The Grove, Phase III, will provide 24 home ownership opportunities for members of Jackson’s workforce that currently earn less than 80% of the Annual Median Income. Each unit at The Grove, Phase III will be 1,200 square feet with 3-bedrooms and 2-bathrooms. Completion of the project is scheduled for June of 2021.

My Cause
The Mission: Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. We build attractive, affordable homes in partnership with donors and volunteers in the Greater Teton Area. Homes are sold at no profit to pre-selected families and individuals with an interest-free loan to ensure affordable monthly payments. Homeowners are required to contribute at least 500 hours of “sweat equity”, save for closing costs, and complete a series of homeowner education classes in order to purchase the home. Teton Habitat also runs the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which sells donated building supplies, home furnishings and appliances to help support Habitat’s program.
About the Organization: Since its founding in 1995, Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area has constructed and sold 49 affordable homes, serving 54 low-income families or 182 individuals including 112 children.

In June of 2017 Habitat launched its largest project to date, The Grove. At The Grove Habitat is constructing 24 3-bedroom/2-bathroom condo homes in the heart of Jackson, WY to sell to 24 low-income workforce households. Habitat is building the Grove in three stages of eight homes each. Stage 1 (the first eight homes) was completed in October 2018, Stage 2 (the second eight homes) was completed in February 2020 and Habitat is currently building Stage 3 (the third set of eight homes).

Habitat operates an Affordable Homeownership Program. Through this program, Habitat constructs homes with the help of community volunteers and future homebuyers to sell to low-income households and families. Habitat finances every home sale with an affordable, 30-year, 0% interest mortgage. This home financing model is the mechanism which makes homeownership affordable for low-income members of the community. Through Habitat’s affordable homeownership program, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future for themselves and their families.
