My Appeal
Veterinary medicine is the most wonderful career for which a girl could ask! I truly believe that from the bottom of my heart. I knew from a very young age exactly what I wanted to do with my life. However, there is a very dark side to field that needs to be discussed...the outrageously high suicide rate. I have had the life-changing experience of saying goodbye to one of my co-workers/colleagues/friends on 4 separate occasions. I can say it never, ever gets any easier. I am ugly crying as I write this thinking of their memories and how I wish I could have done more to help. I will not stop this fight until "not one more" is lost.
Ladies in Heaven, this ones for you! You might be gone but please know that you're never forgotten!

The Mission: NOMV will transform the status of mental wellness within the profession so veterinary professionals can survive and thrive through education, resources, and support.
About the Organization: NOMV addresses wellbeing in veterinary medicine through multiple innovative pathways including: the world’s largest veterinary peer-to-peer support group, an educational program providing leadership focused on wellness; a support grant program providing immediate financial support; an online crisis support system specifically designed for veterinary professionals; and research to further the advancement of wellness, mental health, and the reduction of suicide in veterinary professionals.
