My Appeal
Zawadi, Saimoni, Riz and I are all so excited to raise money to support our friends at Nkoaranga Orphanage and Happy Family Children's Village. Together, we will hike 30 miles this summer, the equivalent of climbing Kilimanjaro - and we're asking you to help! Even a few dollars per mile would go so far - please give generously.
PS: Saimoni would like it noted that he is a superhero and so will be flying some of those miles instead of walking them. I think this is probably acceptable.

My Cause
The Mission:
The Small Things (TST) currently supports over 130 vulnerable children and families in Tanzania. Our first priority is family preservation, and we have kept over 100 children in their families, supporting them through microfinance, business training, providing school fees, and more. We also have about 50 children in full time, residential care, with newborns – 3 year olds at Nkoaranga Orphanage, and 4 – 18 year olds in loving family-style homes at Happy Family Children’s Village.
TST believes in building and supporting happy families, in all their various shapes and forms. We create sustainable, participatory and evolving care plans for orphaned and vulnerable children and families in the Meru district of Tanzania. Working with the community, we aim to empower our clients and bringing together small acts from around the world to create big change.

A $20 donation is enough to feed one child for a month, while a $50 donation will pay for a week’s loving care by a local “mama.” $100 covers microfinance for a new business, to help children stay in families where they belong, and $500 provides food for the thirty children’s village kids for a full month!
