My Appeal
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and I’m joining a challenge to collectively Cycle Around the Globe to raise awareness of the risks of suicide and to fund essential support for those who have lost a friend or family member to suicide.
Our team, Cumbria Globetrotters, will be cycling in aid of a local charity Suicide Bereavement Support (SBS). They offer self-help support groups across Cumbria to provide an opportunity for people who have been bereaved by suicide to meet others, to listen, to share, to gain understanding and to connect with others.

The Mission:
IASP is dedicated to:
- preventing suicidal behaviour,
- alleviating its effects, and
- providing a forum for academics, mental health professionals, crisis workers, volunteers and suicide survivors.
About the Organization:
The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) leads the global effort in suicide prevention having developed an effective forum that is proactive in creating strong collaborative partnerships and promoting evidence-based action in order to reduce the incidence of suicide and suicidal behaviour.
