ABOUT FORWARD TOGETHER CAMPAIGN
Team One Step supports Camp One Step through fitness and fundraising. Being active helps alleviate stress, allows us to sleep better, and overall improves our mental and physical health. Community helps us feel connected, reduces stress, and increases a feeling of well-being. Given these unusual times, Team One Step is inviting our past and current members, and their friends and families to use fitness to virtually come together, stay active, and give and receive support. Let's focus on what who we are and what we do well: support one another and cheer each other on.

We are all at different fitness levels which is why you can choose your fitness goal for the 4-week program when you register. There is no registration fee for this program and fundraising is not part of it. This four-week program will be offered to track your steps/mileage or convert your workouts into steps and enter them manually. There will be weekly challenges (not competing with distance or pace since we are all at different levels of fitness) but getting in your daily workouts and being cheerleaders for other. Register now to get and stay motivation in an unusual time in our community and keep others positive too! Feel free to invite your friends and family.

Below is more information about Camp One Step in the event that you are new to our organization.

Cancer can sweep away childhood with hospital stays, treatments, and doctor's appointments. Camp One Step gives it back! We provide a safe, fun place for kids to enjoy simply joys of childhood with peers who understand them. Campers enjoy swimming, arts and crafts, and games that promote inclusion. A volunteer medical staff are available to care for the camper's unique medical needs. Camp One Step is held at Conference Point on the shores of Lake Geneva in Williams Bay, WI. Our Summer Camp is our largest program with approximately 255 campers ages 7 - 19 for two, one week residential session. Campers make friends and memories that last a lifetime, increase self-esteem and give and receive support. Many of our campers refer to Camp One Step as their second family.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
CAMP ONE STEP BY CHILDREN'S ONCOLOGY SERVICES
Camp One Step by Children's Oncology Services believes that cancer should not prevent a child from enjoying the simple joys of childhood. When kids are diagnosed with cancer, childhood can swept away by appointments, treatments, and hospital visits for the child diagnosed and for their brothers and sisters. Camp One Step gives childhood back by providing free programs for children diagnosed with cancer and their families so they can enjoy fishing, arts and crafts, and games that promote inclusion.

We are one of the very few organizations in the country who provide programming exclusively for children who have a sibling with cancer. During Sibling Camp, children who have a brother or sister with cancer can have fun, laugh, and and spend time with peers who understand their unique journey.

HOW YOUR PARTICIPATION HELPS
Team One Step is a fitness team that typically raises money for Camp One Step. Funds raised are used to defray costs associated with sending a child diagnosed with cancer to Camp One Step for a life-changing week. However, this campaign is not a fundraising event. This is a time to come together as a community and support one another. Just like we say at Camp One Step, let's move forward together.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Charity Footprints?

Charity Footprints is a social enterprise that connects fitness and charitable giving. We empower people just like you, to get fit & give back.

Our Virtual Races allow non-profits to challenge their patrons to run, walk or ride and raise funds just as they would in a fundraising walkathon. The best part - charities save over 45% in event and logistical costs. So, the dollars that you pay to register or fundraise, go farther.

What is the campaign registration fee?

This campaign is free to participate in.

However, we encourage you to donate optional/suggested amount during registration or you can always donate any amount on your fundraising page after the registration.

How can I create my fundraising page?

Well, you wouldn't have to create a separate fundraising page. Once you register for this campaign, we'll give you the link to your fundraising page.

How will I track my distance?

You can track your workouts by setting up your devices (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch, Google Fit, Misfit), or download the Charity Footprints' iOS or Android app and track your workouts toward this campaign. ?>

If you workout indoors (treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike etc.), you can upload your workouts here.

How do I join a team on this campaign?

While registering for the campaign, select the team you'd like to join or create a new team and invite others to #GetFitGiveBack with you. If you want to join a team (or create your team) after registration, login to the campaign site and you would find a link to edit "My Team" in the menu under your profile in the header.

I am an international donor (non-US), what are my donation charges and tax-deductibility?

All donations are made in US dollars, so the donations may be levied an exchange rate fee via your bank. Donors will want to connect with their bank to determine exactly what that fee may be. Additionally, international donors will need to reach out to a tax professional to discuss if and how tax deductibility will apply to their donation.

Who can sponsor my fundraising efforts?

The short answer is - everyone. The fundraising research shows that the number one reason for people not donating is that they weren't asked to.

That said, there are things you can do to attract people to sponsor you. Adding a picture to your fundraising page, telling potential donors why this cause is so personal to you, sharing your fundraising page on social media, email, and chat groups.

Last, if your employer has a gift matching program, check with the human resources department to support your favorite cause as well.

Who can I contact if I need help?
