Arthritis impacts millions of people of all ages around the globe. There is currently no cure, but technology and medicine have improved to the point that there are many options to lessen the pain and slow the degeneration of joints. The Foundation for the Advancement in Research in Medicine, Inc. (FARM) was established in 2001 as the first online joint replacement patient engagement platform bringing awareness, education, and personalized support to patients throughout their entire joint replacement journey. Over the years, FARM has provided funds for research grants and various consumer outreach efforts that help people suffering from arthritis in a more personalized way. In 2005, the BoneSmart forum and website were launched as FARM's direct outreach to the joint replacement community.
No matter where a person is in their fight, dealing with the pain and fear of loss of mobility that arthritis brings can be a scary proposition. Even before surgery is needed, questions and concerns arise that worry patients. Receiving information quickly so they can weigh options about treatments, activity, or surgery is vital. BoneSmart now serves as FARM's primary initiative to educate patients and provide the one-on-one personal support they need to successfully navigate their joint journey.
FARM supports programs that strive to inform and support men, women, and young adults with joint problems. Their mission continues to be abating the fears associated with joint disease and enabling each individual to live a happier, healthier, and more productive life.
The Foundation for the Advancement in Research in Medicine, Inc, (FARM) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that strives to raise awareness about treatment and joint replacement options available for the millions of patients suffering from degenerative conditions such as arthritis.
