My Appeal
This Veterans Day (Weds, Nov 11) I will be participating in the virtual Support America’s Veterans March, to raise funds for the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) organization. I will walk 5 miles across Sullivan’s Island, just off the coast of my home in Charleston, South Carolina.
With your help, I hope to raise $500 to benefit the efforts of IAVA to advocate for and provide resources to veterans of all eras. The “Big 6” areas of focus for IAVA include:
Preventing Suicide
Addressing the Dangers of Burn Pits
Modernizing the Veterans Administration
Supporting Women Veterans
Expanding Access to Alternative Therapies
Ensuring Education Benefits and Scholastic Success

The Mission: IAVA’s mission is to connect, unite, and empower the post-9/11 generation of veterans.
About the Organization: IAVA is the non-partisan leader in advocacy, public awareness and peer-to-peer veteran assistance fighting on behalf of veterans to ensure they get the support they need and the benefits they earned. IAVA’s Quick Reaction Force provides confidential 24/7 peer to peer support, comprehensive care management and resource connections making sure that every veteran has a place to turn when in need.
