My Appeal
HopeWell is celebrating our 25th anniversary, having welcomed over 15,000 individuals with cancer, their families and friends - for some 200,000 visits. And I have been there since before the beginning!
My work at HopeWell has truly been a LABOR of LOVE. What a privilege to meet, daily, such a broad array of people with the common thread of cancer. What a reminder, too, of the unpredictability of life.
I think we once imagined a day when HopeWell might not be needed. But, alas, cancer is not going away anytime soon.
In the first 100 days of 2019 we experienced a 30% increase in the number of new people coming to HopeWell and a 28% increase in the number of visits. A founding principle is that we will never charge for our programs of community-based support.
HopeWell's only source of income is philanthropy . . . almost entirely from individual gifts.
I am asking for your support this milestone year hoping to show that by Reaching Out to friends and family, I can reach MY goal . . . and that, together with others whose lives have been touched by cancer, we can reach HopeWell's critical June 30th goal!

The Mission: HopeWell Cancer Support's mission is to inspire healing, hope, and purpose for people and their loved ones who experience the life-changing impact of cancer, by providing support through caring, trust, understanding, peace, and strength in our growing, diverse community called HopeWell.
About the Organization:
HopeWell is thousands of people, young and old, patients and loved ones, who share in the life-changing experience of cancer. The focus of our unique support community is the psychological, physical, and spiritual response to cancer. Facilitated by talented professionals and surrounded by people who understand and care, our members receive the psycho-social support that is vital to the healing process. Through our no-cost support groups, seminars, and exercise classes, we aim to build lasting relationships and inspire life-giving hope and life-fulfilling purpose.
For over 25 years, we have served the Greater Baltimore community, welcoming all people with cancer and their loved ones. Opening our door to more than 200,000 visits . . . offering more than 7,500 days of incomparable support, wellness, and education. And while much in the world of cancer has changed over the last quarter century, one thing remains true: cancer is not going away any time soon.
