Hello,

As many of you know, I am a member of a very important organization to me—Mended Hearts. I have heart disease myself. In December of 1997 I had Open Heart Surgery. I was visited by a man named Marvin Keyser. Marvin assured me and my wife and I that I would be OK. Here we are 22 years later. I am still friends with Marvin. I started visiting Patients and their families in 1998. I joined Mended Hearts Chapter 9 in Hartford, Ct. I was elected treasurer, vice president, and secretary a post I hold today. Marvin convinced me to run for Northeast Regional Director in 2016. I won this election and served in this position for about a year and a half. When we had National Elections in the year 2018, the EVP position was vacant and Ron our current president asked me to serve. For the past 15 years I have participated in the Hartford Heart walk for American Heart and have successfully raised over $1000 dollars and had a top walker medal. This year I am putting my efforts into World of Support for Mended Hearts. When I got involved in Mended Hearts, I found people who truly understood me and who were willing to provide support and give me hope when I needed it the most.

I am participating in Mended Hearts’ World of Support Virtual Walk to help this organization fundraise at a time when the world could use support more than ever. It is a fun event designed to also encourage people to get active.

I am asking you, my friends and family, if you will help me support the organization that has meant so much to me by making a donation and/or joining my team Mended Hearts Chapter 9. By doing this, you help my local Mended Hearts Chapter 9, and the national organization at the same time.

Every dollar raised helps us support children born with heart disease, patients like me with heart disease, and caregivers of a loved ones with heart disease. Our motto is “It’s great to be alive…and to help others.” It IS great to be alive. Will you help me help others too?
