My Appeal

Dear friend and colleague, I'm excited to share that I am participating in the SHEA Foundation’s 2025 Race Against Resistance virtual fundraiser. I am one of the fundraiser leads and I’d love for you to support my cause! 

 

My activity is: Pandemic in a Book

I commit to post on social media, a 50-75 word summary of a book on a global pandemic or with a pandemic featured prominently in the book, on every day of the campaign. Examples are The Plague by Albert Camus, and a recent novel I read - Tom Lake by Ann Patchett, which is about how a family in Michigan spent their summer of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a society, we have seen that pandemics are associated with many material and non-material costs. As you may be aware, the rates of multi-drug resistant bacterial infections increased in many hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of my activity is to promote social awareness on pandemics.



Here’s how you can get involved:

1.      Donate to my cause – Every contribution makes an impact.

2.      Spread the Word – Share my page with your friends and family.

3. Share a book summary with me to post. The summary should be 50-75 words and include what the book is about, the infection featured, and the specific aspect of the pandemic description in the book that made an impression on you. You could even include your thoughts on a future global pandemic based on this book.
