My Appeal
This October, I’m joining the Verde Island Classic—a virtual challenge that lets me walk, hike, or run anywhere in the world to raise funds for something deeply important: protecting the Verde Island Passage in the Philippines. It’s a place you may not have heard of, but it’s one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on the planet—literally called “the center of the center of marine shorefish biodiversity.” It’s also under threat from pollution, overfishing, and lack of protection. This is personal to me. As a Filipino American, ocean lover, and mom, I believe in fighting for the places and people often overlooked.

The Mission: The ABS-CBN Foundation's mission is to holistically transform the lives of Filipinos by protecting children, enriching the environment, and building resilient communities through media and strong advocacy partnerships. The foundation focuses on child rights and development, education, the environment, disaster resilience, and sustainable livelihood. AFI’s aim is to awaken hope in Filipinos by implementing projects through multi-sectoral partnerships, emphasizing the spirit of bayanihan (community cooperation).
