The Boris Lawrence Henson foundation is committed to raising the level of joy in our lives, and creating spaces and events that celebrate joy and foster connection in a meaningful way.
We are launching BLHF Joy Joints across the nation to recreate the spirit of the historic Juke Joints from the 1920s and to provide a space for people to come together and celebrate.
Throughout the month of October, we invite you to join us in a series of diverse events that promote joy, healing, and connection. Organize and participate in activities like wellness walks, double dutch tournaments, card games, and karaoke - things that bring people together and uplift spirits. We welcome the support of corporate sponsors, individual donors, and community partners to help us achieve both our JOY and fundraising goals.
Joy Joints is a part of our One Million Hours Joy Challenge, as we seek to Reignite the Power of Community and Connection.
BLHF is dedicated to providing 1 million hours of free mental health services to the Black community over the next 5 years. By joining forces in this challenge, we can make a profound impact on the lives of individuals in our community.
Our goal is to provide free mental health resources and therapy services for the Black community, ensuring everyone's well-being. We're rewriting the story, nurturing understanding, and building empathy. It's not just about a number, it's about the powerful JOY that comes from unity and togetherness in our Black community. Remember, JOY IS CURRENCY. We're rekindling connections, erasing stigmas, and fostering mental health conversations that matter.
Promotion and outreach will play a crucial role in generating awareness and participation, so we encourage you to spread the word and be part of this transformative movement.
